Well, it’s been a summer so far, hasn’t it? The endless batshit proclamations from the stable genius in DC (LOL), his breathtakingly illegal assault on Los Angeles, attacking citizens and humanity alike, while his vilest supporters thrill at the idea of feeding the vulnerable to alligators when they try to escape Florida’s literal concentration camp… and there’s no sign of the constant assault on reason and empathy and human rights letting up.
Restless. Heartbreaking. Unsettling. Deeply and violently troubling.
This is our summer. The Summer of Our Discontent.
So we persist. The rage is palpable. And we are exhausted. But there is hope. There is resistance. And none of us are done yet.
Well, at least the turmoil has definitely done wonders for our creativity, and the rage has been bottled into some pretty new shades for this deeply flawed season.
Golly this all sounds so trite - but in the midst of all this, we still must all find our joy. Fascism seeks to divide, to crush, and to destroy. We will not allow it.
